8540347 – approx. 3 5/8” o.d. X 1 13/16” i.d. X .5” thick

It turns out that the seal is not available so I created a custom double lip seal made that replaces the original 8540347 seal. This way you can save lots of money by replacing your Duet Sport bearings and seal verses purchasing a new rear tub. This 8540347 seal should also fit the Kenmore Elite HE2 front load washers…

If you catch the bearing failure early then you don't have to replace spinner support but just in case, you can order the Spinner Support. Keep in mind that the spinner support comes with a seal kit so you can return the 12002022 seal kit for a $40 refund which almost cuts the spinner support cost in half when you purchase kit at Neptune Bearing!

In addition, if you have a Neptune with a timer knob (non digital) did you know that these machines shipped with a faulty door latch wax motor? The models are MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A and the 2000 stacker Neptune's. You can inspect your door latch in about 5 minutes to see if you have the faulty wax motor. 

If you have the original design with the brownish color actuator pin you need to replace it asap! The new design has a black color actuator tip. Here is a video that shows how to inspect the stand alone Neptune HERE If you replace your faulty wax motor proactively you will prevent the the machine control board Q6 triac and R11 resistor failure. If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer with a timer knob (non digital) then you need to be aware of the faulty door latch wax motor issue...

Here is a video that shows how to inspect your door latch on the stand alone Neptunes... Note: The Stackers are not difficult to check either.




If you discover that you have the brownish color actuator tip then you can order a new wax motor at Neptune Help. Keep in mind both wax motor designs has the brownish color body, just the actuator tips are different. You want the black actuator tip.

If you don't replace your brown tipped wax motor it will eventually short out which will damage your machine control board. The Q6 triac and R11 will fail and the door will not lock which prevents the spin cycle from happening. You can prevent this failure by replacing your original wax motor.
