Maytag Neptune MAH9700 Bearing and Seal Kit

Maytag Neptune MAH9700 Bearing and Seal Kit:

We have just released the MAH9700 Bearing and Seal kit for those machines that sound like a jet plane taking off. See MAH9700 Bearing and Seal Kit for more information.

No special tools are required to replace your MAH9700 bearings and tub seal. I would expect a few hours to complete the task depending on how much cleaning you do while you have your washer apart.

When you purchase the MAH9700 tub bearings and seal you will receive an email with more information including a link where you can download the service manual.

Let me know if you need anything else by leaving a comment.

For other appliance parts ( other than washer tub bearing and seal kits) you can visit my www.washerbearings.com/parts and enter your model number.

Maytag Appliance Parts 22004473 Motor Control Board - LR error code

Maytag Appliance Parts 22004473 Motor Control Board

If you open up the top section you should discover a document in there that has the wiring diagram and diagnostic tests you can run on your Neptune.
The 'LR' error code means Locked Rotor and usually shows up if the motor drive system is not following what the machine control board (MCB) is instructing it to do. The MCB instructs the motor control board how fast and how which direction to rotate the inner basket. I would also check that the belt is still on the pulleys.
Sometimes the motor control board has simply failed and does not rotate the basket or it could be that the speed sensor on the motor has quit working or has a bad connection. I will check all of the connectors in the machine and clean them by removing the connectors and reinstalling them. The sliding action will clean the connector pins if there is oxidation built up on the pins. Just make sure you install the connectors in the exact same position they were originally. When working around the motor control board which is located near the floor I would take a look at the board and see if there are any physical burnt components, leaking or bulging capacitors, etc.
After inspecting all of the connectors in the machine that you can get to I would retest the motor drive. If it does not rotate the basket and you still get the LR error code it is time to replace the motor control board. In 99% of failures the motor control board fails, not the motor. You can visit www.22004473.com for more information on the replacement motor control boards.

Please visit www.washerbearings.com/parts to order replacement parts other than tub bearings and seal. and enter your model number and they can look up the part you need.

Maytag Neptune Washer Seal Replacement - How to replace

Maytag Neptune washer seal replacement - If you notice your Maytag Neptune front load washer starting to sound like a freight train you should know that it is time... Time to replace your Maytag Neptune bearing and seal.

Although, you can rent the special Neptune bearing tool kit you can replace the bearings without it. The photo above shows the Neptune bearing and a revised lip seal, o ring and installation cup.

If you have the earlier lip seal you cannot install the revised lip seal because the spinner support shaft is machined different than the spinner support shaft that uses the revised lip seal. If you replace the Neptune spinner support it will come with the revised lip seal.

I would recommend having a large 8 pound hammer available just in case when replacing your Neptune tub bearings...

Let me know if you have any questions.

How To Remove a Bathtub Drain With Broken Cross Members and Install New Drain

How To Remove a Bathtub Drain With Broken Cross Members and Install New Drain

How To Remove a Bathtub Drain and Install New Drain - I am going to show you how I removed a bathtub drain with a tub drain removal tool (tub drain extractor). This particular drain was corroding away and eventually water could start sneaking under the bathtub.

Note: The tub drain instructions called out for some plumber's putty which I did not display in the beginning of video.

In addition, the cross hair support that holds the stopper in place broke away too so I just had an open bath drain which opens up the risk of caps and other items going down the drain.

If you have a washer that needs the bearings and seal replaced please visit my website and I will help you!

Nika Snow Storm - My Craftsman 30" Snow Blower - Gas Cap Leaking

Wow... Nika! You delivered some heavy snow last night!

I had to get out my Craftsman 30" snow blower this morning.

The snow had a layer of ice on it that would have made it really
difficult to shovel. Especially considering that I have a corner lot
which means 2 side walks. The side side walk is about 140' long.

Here is a video I made with the camcorder in the window and I
sped up the video to keep it short.

This Craftsman snow blower is about 3 years old. The only problem I have
had is the gas cap leaked. I called sears and they sent me a new one. No problem...

It has heated grips and a headlight as well as trigger controlled power steering.

I love the electric start and you can hear it in the video when it starts up...

However, I noticed the replacement gas cap is leaking now after 2 years.

Have you had any trouble with your gas cap leaking? I wonder if there is
a design issue with the gas cap?

Maytag Neptune Washer Keeps Shutting Off

Maytag Neptune Washer Keeps Shutting Off

Above is a photo of a Maytag Neptune motor control board (MCB) that has failed.

The most common cause of Maytag Neptune Washer Keeps Shutting Off is a motor control board failure. The motor control board (MCB) on the Neptune is situated on the right side near the floor pan. On the stand alone models (non stacker) you can remove the door and front panel and take a look at the MCB. If you start up the machine and it shuts off within a few seconds that usually indicates the MCB has failed.
Since there is high voltage on board (170 VDC) components can actually rupture when they fail. Typically, the ten amp fuse will blow or it may zap a copper trace off of the board. If you inspect your MCB but don't see anything burnt on your MCB I would check the connectors on both the MCB and the machine control board which is located in the upper console section. It can help to unplug each connector and re install it to clean the connector pins/contacts. You should also have a special diagnostic sheet with a wiring diagram and other help information.
If you discover that your Neptunes' MCB has failed you cavisit www.washerbearings.com/parts to order replacement parts other than tub bearings and seal.
Older Neptune's will need the motor conversion kit which includes a new MCB, motor and wiring harness and this is because Maytag had redesigned the motor drive system due to reliability issues on the older machines.
I hope this helped you. Leave any questions or comments below.

Carrier Furnace Inducer Blower Wheel Fan - How To Replace

Carrier Furnace Inducer Blower Wheel Fan - How To Replace the 326100-401 inducer Fan wheel.

This inducer wheel fan was making a loud vibrating noise and I just to take a peek... I did not want to bother the furnace repairman for this simple repair.

Always use good safety judgement when working on your appliances. I recommend you wear safety glasses when working to prevent eye injuries and remove power when there is a chance to come in contact with any electrical connections. Note: A trip to the ER/urgent care will quickly offset any savings when doing repairs yourself.

I also have lots of information on the Maytag Neptune and other front load washers. See my other posts and Washer Bearings for more information..Leave me feedback if this video helped you.

Thank You!
