Maytag Neptune Dryer Chirping Beeping Noises

If your Maytag Neptune dryer with a digital display is chirping like in the video below... here are some things to look for...

1. Pull the ribbon cable that comes from the push buttons on the front off the circuit board then put it back on again and see if that helps.

2. You may need to replace the control board/keypad assembly. You can look up your replacement parts by entering your model number in the search box www.washerbearings.com/parts .

Let me know what you discover in the comments below.

Maytag Neptune Leaking At Door or Bottom

Maytag Neptune MAH5500 Soap Dispenser

I recently had a client call me and inform me that his Neptune was leaking water. He believed it was the door boot so he replaced the door boot. After he ran washer again the door was still leaking.

He checked the door liner for any cracks and could find none. So he ran another load and watched the washer and saw water leaking on floor and he determined it was from the soap dispenser over flowing. The Neptune soap dispenser was over flowing during the softener cycle and it turns out that the softener hose was clogged which was causing the soap dispenser to over flow.

So, if your Neptune is leaking water at the door or bottom you now have some direction you can take to figure out where it is coming from.

If your Neptune is starting to sound like a jet plane taking off see my www.neptunebearing.comwww.neptunebearing.com for more information.

I hope you found this post helpful.

Maytag Neptune Burnt Resistor - R11 Resistor

You have a Maytag Neptune and it is not spinning out your clothes and you notice the door is not locking. What happens in most cases is the original door latch wax motor has failed. Maytag redesigned the original brown tipped wax motor and the new design has a black tip. See www.neptunehelpsong.com for a helpful video I created.

The wax motor is only on the timer knob based Neptune's such as the MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A and the 2000 Stackers. The commercial Neptune's with timer knobs are also affected and what happens is the wax motor starts drawing too much current and then the Q6 triac on the machine control board overheats and can short out internally. A triac is an electronic switch that supplies 120 VAC to the wax motor. Once the triac shorts out it will typically back feed 120VAC and burn the R11 resistor. See photo below for the new black tipped wax motor.

In most cases the R11 will be burnt. In rare cases the Q6 opens internally which will cause the symptoms of no door locked light and no spin and R11 is not burnt.

Once you discover that your R11 resistor is burnt STOP using machine to prevent further damage to control board. I have a video at www.neptunehelp.com that shows you what to do next and how to bypass the spin enable switch so you can get some laundry washed while you wait for your STAGE 1 Q6 R11  repair kit with new wax motor.

I hope you found this post helpful.

Maytag Neptune bearing and seal kit - More Information

If you own a Maytag Neptune washer and it sounds like a jet plane taking off when it is ramping up to high speed spin then your bearings probably need checked and/or replaced.

What happens as the tub seal wears it will eventually allow water to get past and from there it will enter to where the bearings are which will cause the bearings to rust and they will start to get loud.

If your machine is 10 - 15 years old it may be a wise investment to take machine apart, clean it out and replace the bearings and seal so you can proactively keep machine running smoothly. If you wait until the bearings are screaming you run the risk of damaging other components such as the spinner support shaft.

In addition, the bearings are steel and they are in an aluminum hub so when the water enters you will get corrosion due to the dissimilar metals. This corrosion can make the Neptune bearing replacement more difficult so it is best to catch it early.

Contact me if you have any questions about your particular Neptune model because there may be a couple more parts you will want to replace proactively to prevent future downtime.

Maytag Neptune Dryer 8.8 Error Code

Have you received the 8.8 Error code on your Maytag Neptune dryer?

If so, in a pinch you can try placing a heating pad on the top console to heat it up and see if that will get your dryer working again for now...  However, you will more than likely keep getting this error until the root cause is fixed.

If you don't have a heating pad you can try a hair dryer or space heater as well. Just have the heat facing the top control console to warm it up a bit and try to start your cycle.

Visit my www.F35Error.com page and try my F35 Error kit to get this error corrected.

I would inspect the two electrolytic caps (look like taller cylinders) just right of the transformer on the left side of circuit board for any bulging on the top of capacitor. Sometimes the capacitors will not bulge so I would try replacing them anyway as a first step before trying to locate a replacement circuit board.

If you decide to replace your board you can check HERE for your new replacement board. Simply enter your model number in the search box to get a parts breakdown.

Let me know if this helps you below in the comments.

Washer Displaying Eb1 or E61 Error Code

I recently had a client where their Kenmore washer, model 417.44082400, was displaying the E61 error code. It turned out that I could not find an E61 code so we decided it was the EB1 code instead. Note: There are a number of washers that use this same code...
The EB1 code means incoming power frequency out of limits. It is unlikely that your 120vac 60hz is out of frequency limits unless you are running on a generator because the power company closely monitors the frequency of the power you receive.
Currently the only thing to do is replace the control board. Check HERE for your replacement board. I would like to look at some bad circuit boards to see what may be causing the eb1 error code when the AC power is actually good.
Below is what your control board may look like…

Let me know if you had the eb1 error code and if you fixed it by replacing your control board.
