I wonder if Paul the octopus can predict when your Maytag Neptune bearings are going to fail?
Oh well! The only clue you will have is that your Neptune front load washer sounds like a jet plane taking off during the high speed spin.
By the way, you can replace just your bearings and not the large outer tub and save a laundry basket full of cash. See Neptune Bearing for more information.
I also provide replacement bearings and seals for the Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front load washers as well.
Don’t forget if you have a Neptune with a timer knob (non digital) that you need to replace the door latch wax motor if it is the original one before it fails and damages your machine control board. See Neptune help for information.

I have a Neptune with an issue where the door will not close properly and the top hinge appears loose. All of the visible screws are tight. When I try to force the machine to run by holding the door up manually and starting it, the display read "d5". Any idea what's going on?
Hi Matt, I believe the error code is a DS and not D5... Which indicates a problem with the door lock not communicating with the control board.
The control board senses that the door is not locked so it shuts down machine. It could be the door latch assembly, or in your case, a mechanical issue since the door is not shutting properly.
I think you need to investigate why the door is not closing properly.
See http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16026126.pdf
for the service manual for the MAH8700.

Hi, I just came across this site for Neptune Washers. We have a moldy front seal on our MAH5500BBW. I'm fairly handy and trying to figure out if it's something I can replace myself and where I can get the kit or seal. Any help appreciated.
Tim,
You can get the new 12002533 door boot from http://www.neptunehelp.com.
If you have a MAH3000 Neptune you can add a drain hose to the door boot. There are door boot hose kits on the order form as well. Some MAH4000's shipped without the door boot drain hoses as well.
Otherwise, water will sit in the door boot pocket and that can lead to mold growing on the door boot...
Jeff
