Google Guitar - Play the Google Guitar again

Did you not get enough of the Google Guitar logo on June 9, 2011?

Now you can play the logo just as you did on the Google.com homepage; U.S. users can record and share their masterpieces, too. Here is the link Google Guitar

The Guitar doodle was in honor of musician and electric guitar pioneer Les Paul's birthday. I found it difficult to play using the mouse so instead you can play it using keys!

See some sample songs using the Google Guitar logo Sample songs Have fun!

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer and you don't like the sounds it is making while in the high speed spin cycle then see Neptune Bearing You can replace your Neptune bearings and seal instead of replacing the $450 outer tub! There is also a tool kit you can rent that includes access to a step by step video to save you both time and effort.

In addition, if you have a Neptune with a timer knob (non digital) did you know that these machines shipped with a faulty door latch wax motor? The models are MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A and the 2000 stacker Neptune's. You can inspect your door latch in about 5 minutes to see if you have the faulty wax motor.

If you have the original design with the brownish color actuator pin you need to replace it asap! The new design has a black color actuator tip. Here is a video that shows how to inspect the stand alone Neptune HERE If you replace your faulty wax motor proactively you will prevent the the machine control board Q6 triac and R11 resistor failure. See Neptune Help to order a wax motor.

Wax Motor Actuator 12002535 Order now for same business day shipping!

Wax Motor Actuator 12002535 Order now for same business day shipping!

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer with a timer knob (non digital) then you need to be aware of the faulty door latch wax motor issue...

Here is a video that shows how to inspect your door latch on the stand alone Neptunes... Note: The Stackers are not difficult to check either.

If you discover that you have the brownish color actuator tip then you can order a new wax motor at Neptune Help. Keep in mind both wax motor designs has the brownish color body, just the actuator tips are different. You want the black actuator tip.

If you don't replace your brown tipped wax motor it will eventually short out which will damage your machine control board. The Q6 triac and R11 will fail and the door will not lock which prevents the spin cycle from happening. You can prevent this failure by replacing your original wax motor.

Here is a Neptune model list where the 12002535 wax motors reside:

MAH3000
MAH4000
MAH5500A (not 5500B'S)
2000 Stackers

MAH3000 Maytag Neptune pump question

MAH3000 Maytag Neptune pump question.

Hi. I have a Maytag Neptune washer that seems to go through the whole cycle just fine, except for the fact that the water doesn't drain out. It happened to me awhile ago and someone told me I was using too much soap. I cut down on soap and everything did work great for several months, but now it is worse than ever.

Already Tried: running the rinse cycle again, which worked in the past, but not anymore

Answer:

You have a problem with the pump, either something has gotten into it and is blocking the water flow or the pump itself is bad or the water discharge path is clogged.

See Neptune disassembly photos or videos at Neptune Help. The pump is powered from a set of timer contacts and if you rotate the timer knob you should find spots where there should be 120 VAC on the pump electrical terminals.

If the machine is full of water and you have a floor drain nearby you can lay down the drain hose and gravity will allow the water to drain from machine (unless the water path is clogged with lint or debris).

Once the water is out you can remove the pump and take the cover off of it to inspect it for any lint and debris that could keep the impeller from spinning or the motor could be bad.

To order a new pump simply enter your model number into the Appliance Parts Search box on this blog or at Neptune Help. This tool will give you exploded views and prices of all the parts in your machine and you can simply order new parts and repair your Neptune yourself and save lots of cash.

Don't forget... The MAH3000's as well as any Maytag Neptune front loader with a timer knob has the faulty door latch wax motor. If your MAH3000 serial number starts with 10 - 25 you have 2 more wax motors in the soap dispenser that should be replaced as well before they fail.

The faulty wax motors have the brownish color actuator tip.

The residential models are MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A and the 2000 stackers. The digital machines do not have the wax motor issue.

You can order new wax motors from Neptune help.

Below is the new style with the black actuator tip.

Another item I can help you with is your Neptune bearings. If you notice your machine transforming into a jet engine when it starts to ramp up then it is time for new bearings and seal. If you bother the repairman they will kindly ask you for $900 which includes replacing your large outer tub. Don't do it! You can replace your bearings yourself for a lot less.

You can also rent a special tool kit that includes a step by step DVD that shows you how to do it.

See Neptune bearing for more information.

5 fridays 5 saturdays and 5 sundays in one month

5 fridays 5 saturdays and 5 sundays in one month

Hi Neptuner,

This is an off topic post today...

I received an email saying that the month of July 2011 has '5 fridays 5 saturdays and 5 sundays' in it and that this only occurs every 823 years?

Let's break down the calendar shall we...

Let’s think about this, a year can only start on one of seven days, so there are seven possible basic calendar years. Add leap years, and there are fourteen basic calendars. Period. And one of those calendars only gets used every 823 years? How would that be possible? It’s not of course, all fourteen calendars get cycled through regularly, in fact 2010 used the exact same calendar as 1999.

So there you have it... Yes, there will be 5 fridays 5 saturdays and 5 sundays in July 2011...

If you have a Maytag Neptune front load washer you can keep it working through all 14 possible calendars with Neptune Help and Neptune Bearing.

Whether it is the pesky defective door latch wax motor or the bearings... we can help you save money and get that pile of laundry washed.

Symptoms for Anxiety are many

Symptoms for Anxiety

Recently, I had a relative experience a panic attack so I researched what symptoms you can expect and was quite surprised at how many there were...

Here is the link to the blog I put up on Symptoms for Anxiety

Now if you have a Maytag Neptune Front Loader with the timer knob (non digital) then you may experience some of these symptoms when your door latch wax motor melts your control board's R11 resistor and the Q6 triac. See Neptune Help for more information...

Maytag Neptune Saved From The No Spin Firing Squad!

Hi Neptuner!

I saved another Maytag Neptune front loader from the No-Spin firing squad...

Yes, this Neptune suffered the door latch wax motor failure and would not spin so it was saved by replacing the R11 resistor and Q6 triac on the machine control board to get it up and spinning again. To date I've sold over 5,300 120025235 wax motors! I'm sure that there are thousands more Neptune’s out there just waiting to fail.

Did you know that this failure can be prevented by proactively replacing your 12002535 door latch wax motor? See Neptune Help for more info. There is a cool video that explains the issue too. Check it out!

As your Neptune matures it will start to transform itself into a jet and get really loud in spin cycle. Don't give it 'take off' clearance because it was not designed for flight. Keep your Neptune grounded by replacing your bearings and 12002022 seal kit. See Neptune Bearing for more information.

Water Ice Maker information

Recently, I've had some requests for information on replacement ice makers because I offer the Maytag Neptune front load washer help to homeowners. I do have access to most makes of major appliance replacement parts.

I just created a new website that offers the most popular replacement ice makers at Water Ice Maker. If your ice maker is not doing its job efficiently maybe it is time to replace it. Check it out NOW!

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer you need to know a few things about these machines that can save you money! If your machine has a timer knob (non digital) then you need to know about the door latch wax motor issue where the wax motor shorts out and damages the machine control board.

You can prevent the Q6 triac and R11 resistor burnout by proactively replacing your wax motor before it fails with the new redesigned wax motor. There is a video that shows how to inspect your door latch to see if you have the faulty wax motor and there is a video that shows how to swap it too! The website is Neptune help.

Next, I developed a low cost bearing and seal kit so you can replace your bearings when the machine starts to sound like a jet plane taking off when it ramps up for the spin cycle. See Neptune Bearing for more information. There is even a Neptune bearing tool kit rental available to help you change your bearings and it includes use of a DVD that shows the disassembly, bearing swap and the seal kit installation.

Both of these Neptune kits were created to save you a ton of money in service calls and even machine replacement by getting more years out of your Maytag Neptune front loader!

Until next time...

Paul the octopus and the Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer meet up?

I wonder if Paul the octopus can predict when your Maytag Neptune bearings are going to fail?
Oh well! The only clue you will have is that your Neptune front load washer sounds like a jet plane taking off during the high speed spin.

By the way, you can replace just your bearings and not the large outer tub and save a laundry basket full of cash. See Neptune Bearing for more information.

I also provide replacement bearings and seals for the Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front load washers as well.

Don’t forget if you have a Neptune with a timer knob (non digital) that you need to replace the door latch wax motor if it is the original one before it fails and damages your machine control board. See Neptune help for information.

2009 Chevrolet Malibu and 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air crash

Maytag Neptune repair - Off topic post for you...

Wow, which vehicle would you rather be in during a 40 mph crash... A large, heavy 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air or a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu during a crash? I know which one I would pick... Only after seeing the video!

Go ahead and check it out at 2009 Chevrolet Malibu and 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and leave a comment on your thoughts after watching the video clip.

When your Maytag Neptune front loader crashes check out Neptune Help for repair information, genuine Maytag replacement parts. In addition, if you have the Neptune front load washer with a timer knob (non digital) you will want to replace your 12002535 door latch wax motor if you have the original one in there.

Lastly, did you know that you can replace your Neptune bearings and seal when your machine sounds like a jet plane taking off? See Neptune Bearing for more information on replacing your bearings and saving a ton of money...

Maytag Neptune Motor Conversion Kit- 12002039

Maytag Neptune Motor Conversion Kit- 12002039

Hi Neptuners! Does your Neptune front load washer shut down a few seconds after pushing the start button? Or maybe your washer sounds like it is growling when the inner basket is rotating?

If so, it is possible that your Motor Control Board (MCB) has failed. I have a Maytag Neptune Motor Conversion Kit site that has troubleshooting tips on it and if necessary, you can purchase the replacement Motor and MCB. I used to stock and ship these motor conversion kits but now you can easily order them.

Maytag redesigned both the motor and MCB so they are not compatible with the original parts as they use a different technology on the motor drive system.

Most clients comment on how the new motor drive is quieter than the original motor drive. This new motor drive fits all solid door panel Neptune's including the Stackers.

Don't forget to replace your door latch wax motor (12002535) if you have a timer (non digital) Neptune front loader and you have not replaced it yet. See Neptune Help for the wax motor information. Until next time...

Maytag Neptune MAH5500AWW Won't Unlock the Door

Here is a recent question about the Maytag Neptune front loader repair...

Q: "I have a Maytag Neptune MAH5500AWW Front Load Washer. A couple years ago I replaced the R11 & Q??, and Wax Motor (with black plunger) to fix a problem in which the spin cycle did not fully run and left the clothes wet. The washer worked without fail until last week. The current problem I am experiencing is that the washer runs through the entire wash cycle, including spin, however, the "on" light and "door lock" light stay on. Door stays locked and the washer stays in a state in which the drum sounds like it spins 1/2 turn every 15 seconds. It never turns off."

A: There are a couple of issues that can cause the wax motor to stay energized after replacing R11 resistor and Q6 triac.

The first cause could be that one of the R11 leads is no longer connected to the Q6 pins #1 and #2. If either lead of R11 becomes disconnected the wax motor will stay energized. If you have an ohmmeter, you can verify that each lead does in fact connect to either pin #1 or pin #2 of the Q6. Note: pin 1 on the Q6 triac is looking at the flat side the very left pin. Pin 2 is center pin and pin three is the far right pin when looking at the flat side. If you flip board over keep in mind the Q6 orientation.

After verifying that the R11 leads are in fact connected... The other cause could be that the Q2 and Q7 transistors need replaced. It is possible these took a 'hit' when the first R11 burnt because AC voltage can be backfed when the Q6 triac shorted out. There is a STAGE 2 kit at the Neptune Help order form where you get the Q2 and Q7 replacements.

How To Repair Electronic Components

Hi Neptuners!

Recently, I had a chance to go through some email responses I received from you after you repaired your Maytag Neptune washer.

I can't believe how many successful machine control board repairs you have completed since I have been offering the Q6 R11 repair kits. You of all people... because most of you have never soldered before! That is crazy! I know someone would have said "that can't be done.. you can't have homeowners soldering on their Maytag Neptune control board...". Boy, am I glad I did not listen to them! Looking in Quickbooks I have sold over 4,300 wax motors!

I then got to thinking that I don't know how many times I've taken a broken electronic device apart and repaired it. I like to see if I can fix it before pitching it... Some devices had a broken wire or lead. Some devices I did not find anything but they worked when I reassembled them?

I decided to write this because I ran across a couple of e-books you might be interested in. The first one teaches you how to test electronic components like a pro and the second ebook teaches you how to find the value of a burnt resistor.

If you have an interest in learning more about electronics or repairing devices then these books should help you. I was putting together some links for electronic circuit type kits, too. I will post those once I have them all compiled.

Electronics can be a rewarding hobby and who knows you could even invent a new device? I received my electronics training in high school and at Devry and have been playing with electronics since then. Actually, it helped me develop the Q6 R11 repair kit company that started with my http://www.neptunewaxmotor.com/ site.

Maytag Neptune How to video - Wax Motor inspection

Maytag Neptune Washer Video - How to disassemble your Neptune for Wax Motor Inspection

I get the question "How do I know if I have the faulty wax motor in my Neptune's door latch?" all of the time so I decided to create a video that shows the Neptune disassembly.

See www.Neptunehelp.com to order your replacement 12002535 wax motor. Maytag redesigned the wax motor and when they did they specified that the tip be black so you could easily identify if you have the faulty design or the new design.

I have a cute video at www.NeptuneHelpSong.com that explains what happens if you don't proactively change your faulty door latch wax motor.

If your machine has a timer knob (non digital) then yours shipped with the faulty wax motor.

Maytag Neptune repair - door latch wax motor

Maytag Neptune Repair

I just finished a new video that shows how to replace the door latch wax motor in the maytag neptune door latch. Here is the Neptune Wax Motor Video link.

If you have a Maytag Neptune front loader with a timer knob you will want to inspect your wax motor and make sure it has a black actuator pin. If it has the brownish color actuator pin then you will want to replace it as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that if you have a MAH3000 model with the serial number starting with a 10 thru 25 then you will have two more wax motors in the soap dispenser. These control the bleach and softener flows.

See Neptune help for more valuable Neptune front loader information.

front load washers - Maytag Neptune Update

Front load washers are here to stay! Do you own an earlier Maytag Neptune front loader? If so, you need to be aware of some reliability issues.

First, the door latch wax motor is probably the most problematic component on the Neptune. The original devices short out over time and burn the R11 resistor and the Q6 triac on the machine control board. You can prevent your R11 & Q6 failure by proactively replacing your faulty door latch wax motor. The part number is 12002535 and you can purchase the new replacement at http://www.neptunehelp.com/.

If you have a MAH3000 Neptune, you could have 3 wax motors in there waiting to fail... The soap dispenser on the earlier MAH3000's have 2 wax motors that control the bleach and softener flow and should be replaced.

The original wax motors have the brownish color actuator pin and the new design has the black pin.

Next, we will talk about the next item you should be aware of being a Neptuner.

Maytag Neptune Help feedback

Hi Neptuners!

Here is feedback I received today after Chuck had changed his Neptune bearings and seal.

"Thank You Thank You Thank You I have completed the bearing replacement on my Neptune washer and all is well. It is again working like new. I have one question, my unit is a 5500BWW, do I need to replace the wax motor, or did Maytag make the change with that model #. Thanks again. Chuck S."

That's great news Chuck! Your MAH5500BWW does not have the faulty 12002535 door latch wax motor so you are OK. Jeff

If your Neptune is screaming at you while in high speed spin cycle goto http://neptunebearing.com/page4.html to purchase the replacement bearings and 12002022 seal kit.

More problems for Maytag... Not just Neptune front loaders!

Well, it seems that the Maytag Neptune front loaders are not the only problem at Maytag.

Since you have a Maytag Neptune it is possible you have a Maytag refrigerator so I wanted to pass this important information along to you.

Maytag just recently issued a recall for 1.6 million refrigerators that can have a relay overheat and cause a potential fire.

I've read complaints from folks going to the Maytag website because Maytag is collecting information from you before you can see if your model/serial number is in the recall. Here is a link to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's website with a list of models and serials affected by the recall http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09145.html.

It looks like Ole Lonely will be real busy now!

With Spring just around the corner we wanted to remind you to clean your refrigerator condenser coils.

Most refrigerator condenser coils are located at the bottom of the refrigerator. To clean them simply remove the front toe plate at the bottom of the refrigerator and vacuum out the dust and pet hair.

By keeping your refrigerator coils clean you will extend the life of your refrigerator and it will run more efficiently.

Please forward this message to your friends and family members to remind them to clean their refrigerator coils too.

If you own a Maytag Neptune front loader please check out www.neptunehelp.com for more information on the faulty door latch wax motor, part# 12002535.

Regards,

Jeff
