What are they doing to that poor Maytag Neptune Front Loader?

What are they doing?

1. Winding up the spring to get the Neptune started?

2. Freeing the stuck tub?

3. Disecting the Neptune?

4. Adjusting the belt tension?

Actually, they are using the special Neptune Bearing Tool that can be borrowed at www.neptunebearing.com. The tool kit comes with the bearings, 12002022 seal kit and a DVD that shows you how to disassemble the Neptune front loader, replace bearings and install seal kit.

You don't have the use the tool kit... Folks have been changing their Neptune bearings using pipes, large hammer, threaded rod, large washers, patience, etc.

You can make replacing your Neptune bearings kid's play when using the Tony Tool.

Recently having some issues with my Neptune washer. First noticed the water wasn't draining after the wash cycle. Figured I would check out the water pump. I removed the drain hoses from the water pump. Then removed and inspected the water pump. Bingo! Noticed there was some metal part jamming the impeller. In addition, 5 steel ball bearings rolled out of the drain hose (the hose between the drum and the water pump). I was wondering where did these pieces come from. Was it a broken drum bearing? How did it get sucked into the drain/water pump. Below is a picture of the pieces I found.

Hi John,

Is your Neptune loud in spin cycle? If so, then those are probably some of your bearings, However, I have never heard of bearings getting into the pump. See www.neptunebearing.com for info on replacing your bearings along with info on a special Neptune tool I rent to help you change the bearings.

While you have it apart check your door latch wax motor and make sure it has a black plunger pin. If not, you should replace it before it fails. See www.neptunehelp.com
