Neptune Bearings - airplane or jet sound while spinning

Neptune Bearings - airplane or jet sound while spinning

Ok, you thought you bought a Maytag Neptune front load washer... but now it has morphed into an airplane!

Below is a nice video to show you what to listen for so you can repair your Neptune and get another 5 - 10 years out of it.

See www.neptunebearing.com for the replacement bearings and you can rent a special tool kit that will save you time and effort plus comes with a instructional DVD for the home owner!

If you bother ol' Lonely be prepared to receive a $900 quote to replace the large outer tub plus labor, etc. Why replace the $500 outer tub when you can replace the bearings?

If you catch the bearing failure early then you don't have to replace spinner support but just in case, you can order the Spinner Support. Keep in mind that the spinner support comes with a seal kit so you can return the 12002022 seal kit for a $40 refund which almost cuts the spinner support cost in half when you purchase kit at Neptune Bearing!

One last thing... Other front loaders have the same morphing issue, too! If you're the proud owner of a:

Note: The tool kit rental is not used on the Duets, Elites and Epic front load washers. There is a link to a video that shows you how to change the Duet, Elite and Epic bearings which is actually easier than the Neptune's due to the way the Neptune is designed.

Until next time...

Water Ice Maker information

Recently, I've had some requests for information on replacement ice makers because I offer the Maytag Neptune front load washer help to homeowners. I do have access to most makes of major appliance replacement parts.

I just created a new website that offers the most popular replacement ice makers at Water Ice Maker. If your ice maker is not doing its job efficiently maybe it is time to replace it. Check it out NOW!

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer you need to know a few things about these machines that can save you money! If your machine has a timer knob (non digital) then you need to know about the door latch wax motor issue where the wax motor shorts out and damages the machine control board.

You can prevent the Q6 triac and R11 resistor burnout by proactively replacing your wax motor before it fails with the new redesigned wax motor. There is a video that shows how to inspect your door latch to see if you have the faulty wax motor and there is a video that shows how to swap it too! The website is Neptune help.

Next, I developed a low cost bearing and seal kit so you can replace your bearings when the machine starts to sound like a jet plane taking off when it ramps up for the spin cycle. See Neptune Bearing for more information. There is even a Neptune bearing tool kit rental available to help you change your bearings and it includes use of a DVD that shows the disassembly, bearing swap and the seal kit installation.

Both of these Neptune kits were created to save you a ton of money in service calls and even machine replacement by getting more years out of your Maytag Neptune front loader!

Until next time...

Last episode of 'As the World Turns' airs today, September 17, 2010

Wow! After a 54-year-run on television, "As the World Turns" will air its final episode today.
After reading this headline I started thinking about a title for Maytag Neptune owners…

As the Neptune turns…

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer you can keep your machine turning by replacing your bearings when they start to get loud in the spin cycle. Spin over to www.neptunebearing.com for more bearing information.

In addition to the bearings, the motor control board that drives the inner tub can fail on you and bring your washing action to a quick halt! See www.12002039.com for information on replacing your motor and motor control board.

2009 Chevrolet Malibu and 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air crash

Maytag Neptune repair - Off topic post for you...

Go ahead and check it out at 2009 Chevrolet Malibu and 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and leave a comment on your thoughts after watching the video clip.

When your Maytag Neptune front loader crashes check out Neptune Help for repair information, genuine Maytag replacement parts. In addition, if you have the Neptune front load washer with a timer knob (non digital) you will want to replace your 12002535 door latch wax motor if you have the original one in there.

Lastly, did you know that you can replace your Neptune bearings and seal when your machine sounds like a jet plane taking off? See Neptune Bearing for more information on replacing your bearings and saving a ton of money...

Does the Space Station have a Maytag Neptune Front loader...

Here is a link to a video of some of the important activities on the Space Station. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tZlxmB0HEIo

I wonder if they use a Neptune to wash their clothes? If so, I wonder if they have replaced the door latch wax motor, part number 12002535, so they won't experience what other neptune owners are experiencing with the R11 and Q6 failure?

Now, it seems as these machines age the bearings start to fail and need to be replaced. The tale tell signs that your machine is not orbiting properly is:
  1. Small water puddle on the floor under Neptune
  2. Spin cycle noise that is out of this world
  3. Rust marks or lines on your clothes

If your machine's bearings are failing goto www.neptunebearing.com for relief...

More Maytag Neptune chatter... from Internet.

I watch blogs and forums to see if folks are talking about the Maytag Neptune...

Here is one quote from savvydollar.org: " Posted: Sat Apr 26, 2008 9:24 pm Post subject: I've had a Maytag Neptune since 2000. It's been involved in a class action lawsuit. I like the way it washes and spins the heck out of the clothes. That way it takes less time to dry. Trouble is the computer has broken and the door latch switch has broken and something else. Good thing my DH is an engineer and very handy, otherwise this very expensive washer would've been in the dump many years ago! The other thing is you can put a TON of clothes in them and they use WAY less detergent and water than regular washers. They are a great idea, just stay away from Maytag. The next thing that goes on mine will be the last straw! It will be out the door...HTH_________________Jeanette Collopy"

Wow jeanette, you and every Neptune owner will have trouble (if you have not had any yet...), The door latch wax motor is the most common failure and you can prevent it if you replace your wax motor before it fails. My site http://www.neptunewaxmotor.com/ specializes in the Neptune front loaders. The machines that will have this failure are the 2000 Stacker, MAH3000, MAH4000 and the MAH5500A series.

The MAH5500B series is not affected because Maytag replaced the wax motor with a real solenoid to lock the door. There is a new chapter with the MAH3000's and that is there are two more wax motors in the dispenser area that control the bleach and softener. When these go they will trip the circuit breaker.

Luckily, the machine control board will not be damaged but the timer contacts that control these wax motors could be. See http://neptunewasher.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html for a photo of a melted down wax motor from the dispenser area.

The next part to go after your Neptune gets older will be the bearings, I have a fix for those as well. You will notice that your Neptune will get louder in the high speed spin cycle to where you can't even share the same space as the Neptune. Folks have told me they were quoted $950 - $1,300 for this repair but with my kit you can get going for under $90.

Until next time...
