OK, I have another treat for you today... Listen to my new "Hey Neptune Man" song and see if you can recognize which song it sounds like... Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed that song!

See Neptune Washer for more information on the wax motor and bearing replacement kits.

Wax Motor Actuator 12002535 Order now for same business day shipping!

Wax Motor Actuator 12002535 Order now for same business day shipping!

If you own a Maytag Neptune front load washer with a timer knob (non digital) then you need to be aware of the faulty door latch wax motor issue...

Here is a video that shows how to inspect your door latch on the stand alone Neptunes... Note: The Stackers are not difficult to check either.

If you discover that you have the brownish color actuator tip then you can order a new wax motor at Neptune Help. Keep in mind both wax motor designs has the brownish color body, just the actuator tips are different. You want the black actuator tip.

If you don't replace your brown tipped wax motor it will eventually short out which will damage your machine control board. The Q6 triac and R11 will fail and the door will not lock which prevents the spin cycle from happening. You can prevent this failure by replacing your original wax motor.

Here is a Neptune model list where the 12002535 wax motors reside:

MAH3000
MAH4000
MAH5500A (not 5500B'S)
2000 Stackers

Maytag Neptune repair - door latch wax motor

Maytag Neptune Repair

I just finished a new video that shows how to replace the door latch wax motor in the maytag neptune door latch. Here is the Neptune Wax Motor Video link.

If you have a Maytag Neptune front loader with a timer knob you will want to inspect your wax motor and make sure it has a black actuator pin. If it has the brownish color actuator pin then you will want to replace it as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that if you have a MAH3000 model with the serial number starting with a 10 thru 25 then you will have two more wax motors in the soap dispenser. These control the bleach and softener flows.

See Neptune help for more valuable Neptune front loader information.

The Neptune Help Song voting is offically closed...

It looks like the new Neptune Help Song at http://www.neptunehelpsong.com/ is a winner!

Here are the results:

(22) folks say the song was awesome
(16) folks say the song was pretty good
(1) folks say the song was average
(0) folks say they were slightly impressed
(4) folks say they were not impressed

Honestly, I was disappointed with the total number of votes (43) as I expected more votes in the 3 week voting period considering that I have sold almost 4,000 12002535 wax motors in the last three years and there are 1,000's more Neptunes that will fail due to the faulty door latch wax motor.

We need to reach these Maytag Neptune owners before their wax motor fails so we can save them a $450 repair bill!

If you can think of anyone to send a link to that may have a Neptune or know someone who has a Neptune please do so... You can send them to http://www.neptunehelpsong.com/ so they can learn about the faulty door latch wax motor.

Thank you!

Maytag Neptune help... This ain't Ole Lonely?

This is not Ole Lonely working on his Maytag Neptune MAH3000...
Actually, Mark, a Neptuner out in California, decided to take matters into his own hands and replace his door latch wax motor (12002535) and repair his machine control board. The Q6 triac and R11 resistor burnt because of the defective wax motor. By the way the typical Ole Lonely quote is $450 to replace the control board and wax motor!
In addition, every Neptune front loader that shipped with the wax motor will fail. If you know anyone who has a Neptune front loader please tell them.

New Maytag Neptune Song for you Neptuners

Hi Neptuners!

I wanted to get something off of my chest...

I am creating a new novelty song about the Maytag Neptune no spin due to the defective door latch wax motor issue.

Check back often to see if I posted the link to the song.

Actually, I'm planning on creating two songs and you get to vote on which one you like the best.

Two things I know for sure...

1) They will be funny :>)
2) I won't be singing! (I'll stick to performing my other talents)

It has been a long road but it looks like I will finally get my song. I will tell you the story of the hurdles I had to jump through to get this song created after the winning version is determined by your voting.

Do you own a Maytag Neptune MAH8700 or MAH9700?

Have you seen the Maytag Neptune recall page?

See http://www.washerrecall.com/ for information. Certain serial numbers are only affected and there is a box where you can enter your country, model and serial to see if your Neptune has the recall.

The issue is a potential fire hazard if water drips onto a thermal sensor connector. Please check it out if you own a MAH8700 or a MAH9700 Neptune.

If you own a MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A or a 2000 stacker Neptune please check http://www.neptunehelp.com/ to see if your Neptune has the defective door latch wax motor which will eventually short out and damage the control board. You can proactively replace this component and prevent the control board failure.

Until next time...

IS there a Ghost voltage in your Maytag Neptune front loader?

I get this all of the time… “I get 120 volts at the wax motor but the wax motor does not extend. Is the new wax motor you sent me defective?”

Well, since it is Halloween you may be reading a ghost voltage. Actually, you can read a ghost voltage anytime you take a voltage reading when there is no load connected, i.e. the wax motor. The Neptune door latch wax motor has a much lower impedance than your voltmeter, around 1,000 ohms. Your voltmeter can have 100’s of thousands of ohms impedance so when you take a measurement you can read a much higher voltage than what is really there.

You will find that if you connect the wax motor back up and connect the meter to the wax motor terminals you will have zero volts. That is why your door does not lock which keeps your spin cycle from happening. If you replaced your Q6 and R11 you need to make 4 ohmmeter checks to verify you did not damage any of your copper traces on the backside of your control board. 1. Connector P7.4 to pin 3 of Q6 - should be close to 0 ohms 2. Q6 pin 1 to Q22 pin 1 - should be close to 0 ohms 3. Q6 pin 1 to Q3 pin 1 - should be close to 0 ohms 4. Q6 pin 2 to C16 (lead closest to P7 connector) If you don't read close to 0 ohms on any of these checks turn board over and follow the copper tracks and find out why you don't have 0 ohms.

You might have the use the repair wire to fix a break in a track. Tip: Some breaks can be right next to the component pads and can be very difficult to see. A meter is important to locate these breaks. Note: pin 1 on the Q's is looking at the flat side the very left pin. Pin 2 is center pin and pin three is the far right pin when looking at the flat side. If all of these checks show a short and the Neptune fills with water when started then my STAGE 2 kit should fix your control board. See www.neptunewaxmotor.com for all of your Maytag Neptune needs.

door latch motor on the MAH5500BWW model

Here is a question I get often...

"Just wondering if the door latch motor on the MAH5500BWW model was a concern and needed changed. Thanks, Doug "

Hi Doug, you are good... Your Maytag Neptune door latch assembly was replaced with a one piece assembly and does not have the defective 12002535 wax motor in it. To see if your Neptune is affected by the defective door latch wax motor, see http://www.neptunewaxmotor.com/

In addition, when your Neptune starts screaming when high speed spinning it is time for bearings and a seal kit... I can save you $800 to repair your Neptune or even more if you would have decided to replace it with a new front loader set... You can also rent the famous tony tool which makes changing your bearings a snap! It even includes access to a step by step video. See http://www.neptunebearing.com/ for details.

Until next time...
