1. It will be placed on my http://www.neptunebearing.com/ site.
2. I will post a poll on this blog so you can vote on it.
3. It will have a faster tempo and have a cajone which adds a nice sound.

In case you are wondering... Here is a cajon you can look at:

I took a vacation recently to New Smyrna Beach Florida

Hi Neptuners!

I just got back from vacation Tuesday morning where I enjoyed a week in Florida. We stayed at the http://www.thepelican.com/, a two bedroom condo on New Smryna Beach. It was in the 80's when we arrived on Sunday, April 5th :>). My wife's uncle owns a condo there and ours was next to his. We had a great time! All of the balconies face the beach and ocean for a great view.

We also visited the http://www.ponceinlet.org/ Ponce Inlet Lighthouse on Wednesday. It was a nice site to visit and we climbled the 203 steps to the top. It was very windy that day.

Of course, we took the 2 little ones and my in-laws to the Disney Magic Kingdom on Thursday and boy was it busy! We stayed until 10:00 pm and had to drive 1.5 hours back to the condo afterwards. The admission total was about $455 for all 6 of us... WoW!

Here I am with my little ones and in-laws...

In addition, I spent alot of beach and pool time in the sun Friday, Saturday and Sunday and yes I used lots of sunscreen... We also drove on the beach in our Town & Country van. I saw a couple of cars get stuck in the sand in front of our condo so I was concerned about the van getting stuck but we did'nt get stuck. The kids had a ball driving up and down the beach with the side doors open!

Bummer, I got a $101.00 citiation, too :>( .... I'm innocent I tell ya!

No, it was not for speeding. I will explain in a later post.

Don't worry, I had 2 people helping me back in Ohio ship the Maytag Neptune 12002535 wax motor repair kits, Neptune Bearing & Seal Kits and the Neptune Bearing Tool rentals while I was out.

I hear that there is another Neptune song in the works... To hear the first Neptune song go to http://www.neptunehelpsong.com/.

Until next time...

Maytag Neptune Help feedback

Hi Neptuners!

Here is feedback I received today after Chuck had changed his Neptune bearings and seal.

"Thank You Thank You Thank You I have completed the bearing replacement on my Neptune washer and all is well. It is again working like new. I have one question, my unit is a 5500BWW, do I need to replace the wax motor, or did Maytag make the change with that model #. Thanks again. Chuck S."

That's great news Chuck! Your MAH5500BWW does not have the faulty 12002535 door latch wax motor so you are OK. Jeff

If your Neptune is screaming at you while in high speed spin cycle goto http://neptunebearing.com/page4.html to purchase the replacement bearings and 12002022 seal kit.

More problems for Maytag... Not just Neptune front loaders!

Well, it seems that the Maytag Neptune front loaders are not the only problem at Maytag.

Since you have a Maytag Neptune it is possible you have a Maytag refrigerator so I wanted to pass this important information along to you.

Maytag just recently issued a recall for 1.6 million refrigerators that can have a relay overheat and cause a potential fire.

I've read complaints from folks going to the Maytag website because Maytag is collecting information from you before you can see if your model/serial number is in the recall. Here is a link to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's website with a list of models and serials affected by the recall http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09145.html.

It looks like Ole Lonely will be real busy now!

With Spring just around the corner we wanted to remind you to clean your refrigerator condenser coils.

Most refrigerator condenser coils are located at the bottom of the refrigerator. To clean them simply remove the front toe plate at the bottom of the refrigerator and vacuum out the dust and pet hair.

By keeping your refrigerator coils clean you will extend the life of your refrigerator and it will run more efficiently.

Please forward this message to your friends and family members to remind them to clean their refrigerator coils too.

If you own a Maytag Neptune front loader please check out www.neptunehelp.com for more information on the faulty door latch wax motor, part# 12002535.

Regards,

Jeff

Space Station and Maytag Neptunes are Threatened by Orbital Debris

Hi Neptuners!

You’ve probably heard about the near miss with the International Space Station (ISS) recently.

Did you know that your Maytag Neptune front load washer is also threatened by orbital debris?

The orbital debris I’m talking about is mostly coins… If you have change in your pockets when you wash your clothes your water pump can come to a quick halt or be unable to start up on the next pumping cycle. The problem with the first scenario is that the pump impeller could be damaged when it abruptly stops and will probably need replaced. The second scenario can be corrected by draining the water, removing the pump, disassembling and cleaning the pump then reinstalling the pump. Note: If you have a floor drain near your Neptune you can simply lay the drain hose down on the floor and the water should drain out thanks to gravity.

See http://www.neptunehelp.com/index_files/Page323.htm for Neptune disassembly photos.

In addition, even innocent lint buildup overtime can clog your water pump so it is a good idea to remove and clean out once and a while your water pump during your spring cleaning chores after your Neptune is 5-10 years old.

Proper Disposal of Prescription Drugs

Hi Neptuners!

I had a question come up and I thought I would share it with you...

Q: What do you do with unused, uneeded or expired prescription drugs?

A: Here are the Federal Guidelines:
  • Take unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs out of their original containers and throw them in the trash.

  • Mixing prescription drugs with an undesirable substance, such as used coffee grounds or kitty litter, and putting them in impermeable, non-descript containers, such as empty cans or sealable bags, will further ensure the drugs are not diverted.

  • Flush prescription drugs down the toilet only if the label or accompanying patient information specifically instructs doing so.

  • Take advantage of community pharmaceutical take-back programs that allow the public to bring unused drugs to a central location for proper disposal. Some communities have pharmaceutical take-back programs or community solid-waste programs that allow the public to bring unused drugs to a central location for proper disposal. Where these exist, they are a good way to dispose of unused pharmaceuticals.

The FDA advises that the following drugs be flushed down the toilet instead of thrown in the trash:

Actiq (fentanyl citrate)
Daytrana Transdermal Patch (methylphenidate)
Duragesic Transdermal System (fentanyl)
OxyContin Tablets (oxycodone)
Avinza Capsules (morphine sulfate)
Baraclude Tablets (entecavir)
Reyataz Capsules (atazanavir sulfate)
Tequin Tablets (gatifloxacin)
Zerit for Oral Solution (stavudine)
Meperidine HCl Tablets
Percocet (Oxycodone and Acetaminophen)
Xyrem (Sodium Oxybate)
Fentora (fentanyl buccal tablet)

Note: Patients should always refer to printed material accompanying their medication for specific instructions.

I have a Maytag front load Neptune MAH5500BWW problem

Q: Hi. I have the MAH5500B washing machine. My wife called in a panic and said the LCD panel displayed the LR code. I read 120V ac at the receptacle. I read 120V ac at terminals 1 and 3 on connector P6 at the machine control panel. I ran the Quick Service Cycle and everything seems to function except the tub does not spin. Checking across the 10 amp fuse on the motor control board yields 1 ohm resistance. I am thinking motor but I am not sure...any ideas?

A: Sure. You will have to replace the Motor control board and the motor with the new Maytag 12002039 motor conversion kit which may be available on ebay https://ebay.us/Aac7zW. If you already have the newer motor control board with plastic cover, you can try just replacing your motor control board. You can look at the photos on ebay and see if they look like your motor control board.

It takes about an hour to install. The original motor control boards have a high failure rate on the Neptunes so Maytag decided to redesign both the motor and motor control board.

Have you noticed your Neptune getting loud in spin cycle? If so, then your bearings are failing and will need to be replaced. The extra friction caused by the failing bearings can cause the motor control board to shutdown and/or fail. You can get new bearings and seal kit from www.neptunebearing.com. They also rent the special Neptune bearing tool to save you lots of time and effort and the rental incudes access to a video that shows you how to teardown machine, replace bearings using tool and install the seal kit. If you ask a service technician to come over you will receive a dose of sticker shock! They will quote you over $900 to quiet your machine again...

Until next time...
